Inspired by a documentary about the discovery of a small skate community in Yangon, we started an online fundraising campaign together with the documentary filmmakers to build Myanmar’s first skatepark. With the skatepark as a hub for activities, Pushing Myanmar provides free access to skateboarding in a safe, secure and managed environment.
Pushing Myamnar makes available free of charge skateboards targeting deprived youth from the local area, such as those living on the street and youth of any age or gender, giving them the opportunity to belong to a community which is otherwise absent from their lives. Pushing Myanmar continues to develop skateboarding in the country and empower the next generation of Myanmar youth.
