Nepal Extension Documentary

Our crew of 10 international volunteers arrived in Nepal in May 2021, at the height of covid cases in the region. The day after arrival in Kathmandu, all flights from and to Nepal were suspended and the return flights of every one of our team members got cancelled. With no perspective of returning home, we made our way to Pokhara where we found ourselves in a strict lockdown.

Before we could start construction, we had to sort out the permission to be able to commute to the build site and find a hardware store that would secretly open its back doors for us. In the 2 weeks that followed we built a 250m² extension of Annapurna Skatepark including an 8 stair with handrail and low to high ledge, as well as a big hip.

Our attempt to leave the country via a flight transiting through India failed and the only option left was to secure a seat on one of the few rescue charter flights. The circumstances couldn't have been any more difficult and considering the bad timing we still can't believe this project happened. We look forward to soon returning to Pokhara so that we can make the park even bigger.

Huge thanks to everyone who made this project possible including 100ramps, Holystoked, Rampking Skate Team, as well as SkatePro and our monthly donors.
