Skateboarding is my hobby. I’m really happy there there is now a skatepark because before there wasn’t a dedicated place for skating.

Tripoli Skatepark is located on the grounds of the former girl’s military college in central Tripoli. The skatepark provides a safe community space where people from different backgrounds can come together and positively interact in a playful way. As Libya is currently rebuilding, the skatepark contributes to a healthier, more active, more engaged, and happier society.

A locally led, free-of-charge skateboard equipment and safety gear rental system as well as female only meetups ensure accessibility for everyone, especially girls. Every week, skate programs benefit 60 girls and boys (50/50 ratio) who normally wouldn’t have access to skateboarding.
